“If you don’t take time for your wellness, you will be forced to take time for your illness” – Modern Wisdom
Burnout is a very real thing. A state of mental, physical and emotional exhaustion, it is caused by excessive and prolonged stress.
But interestingly, stress is not always the enemy, which is very much contrary to popular belief.
The good news? You have a lot more control over it than you may think. That’s why it is so important to understand it and know how it affects us, so we can then better manage our relationship with it in order to work for us, rather than against us, gathering a little more balance along the way.
In this two-hour session, we will:
• Consider the ways in which we are currently using the stress response
• Take stock of our individual stress triggers in the body and mind and the different ways we react to the stressors in our lives
• Learn the science of stress and how it both benefits and hinders our performance and our relationships
• Walk away with tools that can be used to change reactions to stress, including grounding, relaxation, changing mindset and mindfulness practices
